KIDS HELPING ANIMALS

2013

PAWS are UP and HOOVES are POUNDING. An amazing group of 3rd graders at New Albany Plain Local Schools put their hearts and souls into helping the animals rescued by the OHIO SPCA to the tune of $1,061.66. Through See Kids Dream, a 501c3 non-profit organization, the students participated in the Penny Harvest program. Penny Harvest puts students in-charge of identifying, researching, understanding and helping to address the needs of others in our community. Nearly all of the 3rd graders participated in this amazing program. Through their learning about many issues and gathering donations they have made a difference in the lives of people and animals. Funds raised were donated to help kids with cancer, individuals with Down's Syndrome, immigrants and refugees, Alzheimer's disease, and abused animals. These 3rd graders are beyond awesome. They are our future compassionate leaders and outstanding citizens. The OHIO SPCA is honored to have met them and even more honored to receive such generosity from their young hearts. Their hard work WILL make DIFFERENCE in the lives of homeless and abused animals.
