In 2019, we found Ruby skinny, heavily pregnant, and being used to pull a wagon… So, of course, we took her in. Ruby was one of the sweetest creatures on Earth. No hyperbole. That’s just how she is. When we rescued her in 2019, we gave her a heated pen in the garage to have her babies. And out plopped adorable, rambunctious, and too-smart-for-her-own-good Blossom and Mom’s spitting image, Rosebud. This was an inseparable family.

Ruby loved people. She’d climb onto the gates to get up to your height so she can give you kisses! Blossom and Rosebud are sweet, too, but are a little more cautious with their affections.

Ruby died of a heart attack in September of 2025. Our vets assured us it was instantaneous and that no suffering occurred.

Her daughters are now the matriarchs of our goat herd, their mama would be so proud.
