Huey

In March 2024, the humane officer for the Fayette County Humane Society asked us if we could take in a piglet that had been picked up running loose near a state route. When this tiny seven-pound baby came to us, we could see that he had sustained scrapes and bruises, no doubt from falling off a truck transporting him away from his mother. Because of his strong spirit, we named him Huey, a German name derived from a word meaning “spirit.” He not only escaped the fate of being slaughtered, but he kept escaping from the temporary enclosures we made for him. Huey is affectionate and loves belly rubs.
