Grace, a five-week-old kitten was found outside an apartment on the north side of Columbus. After picking her up, we knew this little girl was in trouble. Both eyes were severely infected and it was obvious that Grace would lose at least one eye. Grace was examined and treated by Dr. Pam Jones. One eye had ruptured. Grace was given antibiotics in hopes of holding off on surgery, until this little girl had gained some weight. Surgery is extremely risky on such a tiny kitten. Unfortunately, the eye began to enlarge and bleed, so Grace was immediately scheduled for surgery. We are happy to announce that all went well, and Grace is now resting and recovering at the farm sanctuary. She will be available for adoption when she is fully recovered at the age of 8 to 10 weeks old.
